Mr. HORN. Ill be glad to yield. The time is mine.
1998 Ron Paul 12:3
Mr. PAUL.
Thank you for yielding. Id like to
make two points. The other gentleman
from California makes a good point
about the character of Saddam Hussein,
but you have to remember
and have to realize that he was a
close ally that we encouraged for 8
years during the 1980s, so we helped
build him up, which contradicts this
whole policy. I would like to see a more
consistent policy.
1998 Ron Paul 12:4
Then the gentleman brings up the
subject: Yes, he may be in the business
of developing weapons, but hes gotten
help from China, hes gotten help from Russia, and
possibly from Britain and the United
States, and 20 other nations are doing
the same thing. So if youre interested
in stopping these weapons, you better
attack 20 countries. So you have a job
on your hands.
1998 Ron Paul Chapter 12
The text of this chapter and Chapter 126 were spoken so closely in time that the same C-Span video clip is used for both.
1998 Ron Paul 12:1 Mr. Speaker, will the gentleman yield? Here, Ron Paul asks if The Honorable
Stephen Horn of California will yield.
1998 Ron Paul 12:3 Mr. Speaker, I thank the gentleman for yielding. Here, Ron Paul thanks The Honorable
Stephen Horn of California for yielding as requested in 1998 Ron Paul 12:1
